Delightful for the adult reader as well as the child listening or learning to read it her/his self.It is also a good role model for all children. It is an easy memorable read. The Paper Bag Princess has been a very long time favorite. I gift each child in my life with this imaginative female hero.
I think it's great that the princess decides to move on w/out the prince. We love the ending. I know I did. My 3 & 1/2-year old son & I love this book. The only thing I didn't like is all the forests the dragon burns down (being an environmentalist and all) but come on, it's fantasy.
Not your typical fairy tale and that is why it's so fun. Bought this for my 4 year old nephew and both he and his 7 yr old sister love it.
We loved this one, too. Bought it because of "I'll Love You Forever" also by Munsch.
only to find out that he only cares about appearances. If you need a bigger book, you'll need to get a different edition. So, this girl - a princess (well, duh) is about to (eventually) get married off.
It's funny, it's short, and it makes a good point: Looks don't matter, and anybody that ungrateful after you save his life is NOT worth your time. Before you purchase this book, please note that the "Annikins" editions of Munsch's books are specially sized to fit into little kid hands. If you purchase the small edition you are NOT allowed to come back here and whine about it. If you check the product dimensions you'll see this edition is only about three inches square.
This is great. And they don't get married. What's not to like about this story. It's your own fault for not reading the product information.
Unnnnnfortunately, a dragon burns everything and steals him.So, using the time-honored tradition of "making the dragon boast and brag himself to sleep", our princess rescues the prince. As she says, he is a "bum".
